Riley Elf

Hi, this is my first post here at AF. I'm new to this forum but not new to modelling. Here are pics of my latest completed model, a Riley Elf. It's a ScaleKraft resin transkit based on the Tamiya 1/24 Mini kit. Body is painted with automotive paint, to match the 1:1 previously owned by my Grandad.

Pics below....

Ady.

Re: Riley Elf

Hi & welcome! Very nice model - is this the resin body that's also used for slot cars? I've never seen a built one before.

Re: Riley Elf

Welcome to AF! It's about time you joined us.....

I saw this model in person earlier today and it's really cool. All that hard work getting parts to fit was worth it in the end.

You'd better get on and scratchbuild those wing mirrors....I want to see it finished....

Thanks all for your kind comments,
I dont think it is the same bodyshell used for the slot cars
as this was a limited run of 50 .
Builds are a bit slow at the moment but i am still faster than the MOGSTER.
working on a hummer at the moment ,
see you soon

Re: Riley Elf

Welcome to AF. Awesome to see such an unusual (eccentric even) machine here. Scalecraft certainly make a lot of out of the ordinary subjects. Simply wonderful work.

Agreed. Neat model! I've seen a number of his Mini trans-kits (a guy brought a bunch to a show one time), and I own three of his other resin kits with only one-the Phantom Corsair, actually built. The unusual subject matter is what really set Scale Kraft apart from others.

But it should be "Scale Kraft made a lot..."

Sadly Scale Kraft is no longer in business due to a terrible accident that Guido had while hiking on vacation last June in Belgium. Not sure if he'll ever come to an agreement to sell it or not, a couple deals fell through. He was an invalid for at least 8 months and had to go back to his previous job as an architect to make a living.

Verry sorry to hear that. A great shame for Guido and his family, but also for our hobby to lose such a unique craftsman.

Re: Riley Elf

Welcome to AF! Always nice to see such a rare model here. Except for the rough paint at the rear very well executed.
