civic stock keyless entry

ok.... well i just took out my stock factory deck and it has the keyless entry attached to it... my friend has the same civic as me, (97) but does not have the keyless entry. so i took mine and installed it into his car. all of it hooked up correctly but it doesnt work... how do u override this, or will it not work on other cars only mine

if not equiped with keyless i dont think it would have the solenoids for the locks.

The solenoids should be there if there are electric locks... I would think...

You can't just put a factory deck from a keyless entry equipped civic into a non-equipped civc and expect it to work.

The deck actually has the dome light supervision circuitry built into it and part of the keyless entry as well, but I'm sure there is a recieveer that is also in the car somewhere that needs to be installed too.

The wiring should be present in all civics from the DX to the EX, but just unused if the option is not included in the package.

I have the '97 Helms manual and I'll try to reference it for u if u like.
