Re: Need Help...
The brake pads are worn down to the sensors. They put wire sensors in the brake pads so that when the pads wear down the sensors come in contact with the rotors which turns the light on. Needs brakes...

Re: Need Help...
Grettahouse is right. Plus, when you change out your brakes, don't forget to replace the brake wear sensor(s) too. I'm not sure about the e38 7 series cars, but the older BMW's just had one sensor on the front left brake and one on the right rear brake. Just replace the one that wore out and made the light come on, if it didn't make contact, it's reuseable. BMW recommends that you replace the pads and rotors at the same time, but a lot of folks (including me) do just the pads if the rotors are still in great shape. But that part is your call. Cheers!

Re: Need Help...
Hi...Gretta house and Zmuff.I finally have time to check my breaks.
I had checked my break pad and the rotor. It turn out all still good.So I clean them with the break cleaner spray. Then the warning light (BRAKE) and the "check brake lining" warning is gone. It is means the problem solve?becasue the brake pad and rotor all still good. Please info.Thank you. |
