Security Light On '97 Riv, Rapid Flash...

The security light on the instrument cluster of my ’97 Riv is acting weird.
At random times, it will flash at a rapid rate and the radio will stay on after the key is removed and a door is open. With the rapid flashing a relay under the rear driver side seat can be heard cycling at the same rate as the security light.

Anybody seen this before? What is the cause?

Thanks,

Rivrocket

i havent heard of that happening b4 but you may want to check the door latches to make sure there isnt a lose latch or connection thats the only thing i can think of that may keep the radio on and the security light on. you may want to check the battery too b/c all kind of wierd things can happen when one is on its way out.

I might have found something. I turned my 97 Riv off while stopped but with the transmission in drive the other day. When I got out of the car the problem was gone.

Coincedence??
