Abs Light Won't Go Out

I just replaced the front wheel hub on my 1997 grand prix. I assumed the sensor on the bad hub was causing the ABS light to stay on. I had someone use a scan tool and clear all the codes from the car but the ABS light will not go out. Does anyone know how to get the ABS light to go out?

Re: Abs Light Won't Go Out

Check all the connections for tightness. Make sure one wasn't pulled loose and the one you replaced is connected securely.

Re: Abs Light Won't Go Out

It could be one of the other wheel hubs. The easiest way to find out is to run a new scan.

Re: Abs Light Won't Go Out

You need an ABS capable scan tool to clear ABS codes (like a tech-2 or Snap-on MT2500). The typical DIY handheld scan tools are not ABS capable.
