A couple of problems with my '96 Eighty Eight

Well i've had my '95 or '96 (i dont know which one) Eighty Eight for 2 years and everything has been going well until recently.

First, my heater blows cold air on the passenger's side and lukewarm (but not hot) air through the driver's side. The people at one shop says it the blend door and they have to take out my dash to just look at it. Some guys at another shop says it has something to do with the passenger climate control thing. I opened up my glove box all the way to see the blend door on the passenger side and it seemed to work. It went to the left (open) when i turned on the air and to the right when i turned on the heat. I dont know what the problem is.

And second, which might be related to the first but not as serious, my temp control in the dash will not show the outside temp, it will just be blank. But it will show the temp that i set the a/c and heater to. If anybody can help me with this I will very much appreciate it.

Re: A couple of problems with my '96 Eighty Eight

first things first... don't let those shop people RIP YOU OFF!!!

there are three things that could be wrong with your car...
1.) there may not be enough antifreeze, or the flow is restricted
2.) the thermostat is stuck in the closed position
3.) and the one you mentioned, a leaking or defective heater control valve.

go to this site:

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d8015e856.jsp

and look it up... it will tell you exactly what you need to do... just be patient, and explore this site for a while, and i gaurantee you'll find a guide to fix your problem
