Prelude Vs. Camaro Z28 & Legacy 2.5 GT
While driving home from Applebee's today I was making a left turn and I see a Camaro Z28 next to me at the light next to me. I was minding my own business because if I got tempted to race it, I'll just get burned badly. I wasn't planning to take off or anything, but the Z28 takes off at the light and man that car sounded like a beast. He had some after market exhaust. While he was taking off he yelled come on so then I took off after him. It took me a while to catch up to him and the only reason I caught up was because he slowed down. lol. So I happened to like be in front of him and he was behind me. So then at the light up a hill I took off and then he took off behind me and passed me like nothing. That necessary wasn't a race, but whoa that car was fast.
So I was driving normal again down the same street and I ended up pulling next to a new Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT. It was some old dude driving it and I didn't expect him to like want to race me or anything, but I guess he wanted to race. So when the light turned green we both roll off the line and then he floors it and then I do the same. So at the beginning he had half a car on me and by the end of 1st gear around 30 I'm barely at his back bumper and from 30 to 60 I'm like at this rear door, and then from 60 - 70 I'm at his bumper again. Then he slowed down because there was up coming traffic ahead. While driving home today I didn't really expect to race any of these cars, but it was pretty exciting especially against the Legacy 2.5 GT. I wonder how I would have done if there wasn't any traffic in front of us, probably be beat more cars though huh? These are my two exciting races of today. Good races though. I'm wondering whether or not that Legacy was a turbo.

2.5 GT, i dont believe they come turbo anymore. i might be wrong, but i was looking for one at a point in time, and could never find one unless it was an old wagon or something...

Re: Prelude Vs. Camaro Z28 & Legacy 2.5 GT
the 2.5GT are still turboed. they have the 3.0 GT that are the flat 6's that makes the same hp supposidly.
a 5 speed 2.5GT dynos at 233whp at all four wheels. so its actually making 275hp. the main difference between the EJ25 found in the legacy and the STi is the turbo. same block, same variable cam timing and everything. however the automatic turbos aren't terribly fast. the auto has a strong lag. its the 5 speed ones that are pretty quick.

Re: Prelude Vs. Camaro Z28 & Legacy 2.5 GT
The new ones are turbo, if you are refering to the sedans. The older wagons were not (then again, I don't think they were 2.5s)
no offense to you, and I'm not calling BS, but I'm surprised you kept up. After driving both a 96 prelude and quite a few '05 and '06 legacy GTs, the GT feels much faster. Not saying it is, but it definantly feels faster. Anyway, anything can happen on teh street. Nice races.

legacy gt's stock for stock are faster than the wrx (not the sti though) and tat i think the sti motor and legacy motor have more differences than that gotta check though

Re: Prelude Vs. Camaro Z28 & Legacy 2.5 GT
I'm pretty sure it was a GT because I remember seeing the GT badge on the back. I didn't get a good climpse at it, but yeah. By the way my friend David from school has a WRX and the only time I raced him was when I had a lot of extra weight in my car, my bigself was in it including my brother and two of his friends in the car plus two twelves in the trunk. And we're fairly big people. He beat me by a 4 - 5 cars but then I had all this weight in my car so I believe that I could have done better.
