fuel?

hi all
i think i ran my 1997 pontiac g prix out of fuel. not good i know. but after i put 2-3 gallons in her it still wont start. i pumped the fuel to try to get gas to engine. i heard that there is a way to get fuel to motor besides the method i used . anyone know? thank you

everyone does that at least once.
But to prime the fuel system you turn the key to the "Run" position (second click) and this runs the fuel pump for 3 to five seconds, do this a couple of times then try to start.
