Goo in ECM

Hi all,
I was checking grounds and electrical connections today .I decided to go ahead and unplug and plug the harness to ECM to make sure it had good contact.The 1st plug (orange) looked o.k. except 3 or 4 pins looked discolored almost like oil .The second plug(white) had this thick almost honey or maple syrup but darker looking goo , sludge ,and or crap in it.It covered 1/2 the pins inside .The last 2 (grey & blue) showed no signs of substance inside. While I was checking connections earlier I found 1 of the main looms that runs under radiator support and under front of motor,the loom was tattered or cracked to pieces with alot of oil and dirt in and on it.I removed about 1 1/2 ft. of the bad loom and sprayed some electrical (bullfrog) cleaner on the wires and used a rag and some compressed air to clean them. then checked for any broken or chaffed wires in which I found none (there anyways) .I dont think I used enough air pressure and or long enough to push any of that oil up the loom especially the 3 or more feet it would have to go to into plug area ( let alone the bends ) There was'nt any trace of goo on outside of plug either, only on the inside.
Anyone else ever see this? Should I purchase a new ECM? I am thinking a "BIG " yes on that ... lol but I wanted to run it by you guys and gals first to see what yall think
Btw car has been acting strange a slight miss, no power under load and tranny seems outta whack at times .I just replaced fuel pressure regulator and then had to do catylitic convertor cause of fuel in pipes and it was 20 years old.I installed ICM and coil packs today .Checking those ECM connections was last thing before I fired it up to see if ICM and coils helped but now I dont know what to do
Sorry for such a long post Any and all suggestions , advice or 2 cents will be greatly appreciated .

im not positive but GM may have used a Di-Electric grease (or something like that) on some of the PCM connectors

This stuff literally dripped out , has the consistency of the old STP oil treatment. Black in color . like black gear lube Lol
I would think that di-electric would be in all connections not just 1 or 2

If it's an OEM ECM, and the service number is 1227727, you probably need a new one. That particular service number has a high failure rate, and if you have no CEL and some performance issues, it's a good bet that the ECM is your issue.

That is the # I have 01227727 .I will replace ECM
