92 GA SE ABS Codes...
Well I finally went and had the ABS codes retrieved at the dealership and this is what they found:
C0024 - Right Rear Wheel Speed = 0 (1 of 2) C0038 - Left Front EMB Will Not Hold Motor C0054 - Rear Axle Channel In Release Too Long C0086 - Red "BRAKE" Warning Lamp Activated By ABS C0093 - DTC 91 or 92 Set In Current Or Previous Ignition Cycle (91 - Open Brake Switch Contacts During Deceleration / 92 - Open Brake Switch Contacts When ABS Was Required) I've been having problems with the ABS for the longest time now but I would really like to get it fixed now. Where should I start? What does all of this mean? LMK if ya got any answers to these problems. Thanks, Jeremy |

Re: 92 GA SE ABS Codes...
the 24 is the Vehicle speed sensor, rears are expensive as hell!
38 is probley your brake switch under the pedal or in the wiring somewhere 54 not sure I think the 86 & 93 hav to do with the safty switch on the brakes, so you cant pull it out of Park with out the brakes on. Can you pull it out of park with out pushing the brakes? So you paid to get the codes, but you didnt ask what was wrong ?? You should hav .... at least got them to decypher them codes. Those are old codes... maybe someone has a more "current" memory on those .

Re: 92 GA SE ABS Codes...
I didn't have to pay anything to get the codes.... I am sure that they would have told me to have a tech check out the car if I would start to ask questions. I am just kinda wondering where to start with this whole issue. I think that the rear hub costs about $80 cuz I have replaced the left rear already I believe... it was one of the rears that was bad when I got the car. I guess that I could try to pull the right rear hub and check/clean the connections and hopefully that will resolve the problem. More info is greatly appreciated tho...

Re: 92 GA SE ABS Codes...
free is always nice
![]() Ya if you just replace one side of the hub bearings, the other will wear fast. Thats why its recommended that you replace them in pairs. Oh $80 isnt shit! The rear hubs on the newr GAs is around $350-400(depending on where you buy them). But your rear hubs arent prone to wear like the fronts, since they dont turn like the front. They do wear out though after a few 100k mls and will need replaced so the ABS works properly.

Re: 92 GA SE ABS Codes...
Yes they can be checked. Use an Ohm meter to test acrossed the two terminal on the Hub.
Not sure exactly what the resistance should be though. 1k maybe ![]() If no one else posts with the readings you could call a Napa or other parts stores. They'll usually help u out just to sell you parts.

Re: 92 GA SE ABS Codes...
Sorry I didn't post back sooner but I got this problem fixed. The right rear wheel bearing starting grinding while driving so I got one from the local boneyard. Upon pulling off the bad one..... it kinda... fell apart. As in the ABS sensor wasn't attached anymore. Since it has been replaced the ABS light hasn't come on and brakes work great. I am going to try and post a picture of it for you guys to see. Thanks for all the help!
