Talking In Cab Air Filter

Hey guys,

My manual and my glove box on my 99 exteded cab say I sould have an in-cab air filter, but I can't find it anywhere. My pickup has the full console so it can't be there. I've looked up under the glove box but I see nothing. Any ideas?

Trey

Re: In Cab Air Filter

it was not a standard in 99. It came as an option on the LT models and maybe the LS only.
The Manual talks about it incase you have that option. Doesn't mean you have it. But if you do have it, it would be under the dash on the passenger side you should see it pretty easily.

Re: In Cab Air Filter

It's likely that you have one. My '99 LS has one. It's on the passenger side under the dash towards the middle. You have to remove (or loosen and drop) the large plastic cover first to see the cover for the filter. Do a forum search on "cabin air filter". There's been a bunch of stuff posted about it.

Re: In Cab Air Filter

I finally found them. After looking for weeks I found them. I had to remove a caseing and then spoted the filters. There were 2 of them and they were both NASTY. Had to vaccuum out my pickup after I was though. It was a wonder that I was getting any air thought there at all.

Thanks guys....

I hear you on that one. I got my 2000 about a year ago and it must have had the original filters in it. I kept trying to figure out why my air blew ice cold but not hard at all. I did some searching on here and that's how I found out about them. It was incredible how nasty they were. Now my air blows ridiculously hard and cold, and I notice the truck smells better also. I bet there are lots of people out there that don't know about those filters.
