Window Troubles

This is one I've never heard before, my drivers side back window works great except it no longer goes down all of the way, it stops about half way, the motor sounds great when its travelling in both directions it just one go down past a certain point, I've never had any window problems in my intrigue until now *knock on wood* and I hope this will be the only problem.

Re: Window Troubles

sounds like your gonna have to take off the pannels and check it out, b/c it's more likely gonna be a mechanical problem.

Re: Window Troubles

I have had this problem with both rear windows. I have been successfuly with sliding the armature assembly out of the motor housing and cleaning the commuters and brushes with alcohol. The commuters are those little segments that make contact with the brushes and get the electricity to the part of the motor that rotates (the armature). The brushes are the pieces of carbon that sort of ride on the commuter and have a small wire attached to the. You will have to hold the brushes out of the way with a toothpick or something when you go to put the armature assembly back in.

It is certainly a lot easier than on most cars that I've worked on.
