Re: New caliber hate or like

If we quit comparing it to the performance of the Neon, maybe we would like it better for what it is.
They had a review on Motorweek (PBS) and found that it handled well and rode smooth. They got 26mpg on the test, which included the performace testing. But the 0-60 in 9.3 and 1/4 miles at 17.2 turns me away.

Re: New caliber hate or like

I really like the Caliber. All of the features it offers for such a low price are great. It looks even better on the road than it does in pictures too, which is a good thing.

I thought maybe I'd like it in person, but I don't! Still reminds me of the Vibe, Matrix and other crappy little SUV's running around.

Re: New caliber hate or like

Really? I actually like it more in person than I do in pics, and I even like the pics. I think it will be a great option for first time car buyers, especially with everything else out there right now.

Especially if they like returning to the dealer with all the new problems they will have, just like with any first year car.

Re: New caliber hate or like

I know it's early, but I haven't heard of any issues so far. Also, and sorta off topic, but I saw commercials for it during the NBA playoffs last night which were pretty flattering.

That's great that the Caliber does so well in the hills. You getting good mileage? How do you like all the features so far? I love hearing personal experiences, so I'd love to hear some more about how you like it. Thanks for sharing.

Mileage is around 23 in town,I live on top of a mountain so everytime I go down town it's a hill climb, the Explorer used almost 1/4 tank on a trip to the grocery store! This is a great little car,it's just the wife 2 dogs, and myself so there's plenty of room. The back seat has legroom for adults.I like the radio controls on the steering wheel. The car handles great on country roads. This is my first Dodge, and I'm very happy so far.

Thanks for sharing. I went to see if I'd fit in one (I'm 6'4") and I fit in there just fine, which was really good to find out. It seems to be deceptively spacious.

Re: New caliber hate or like

I think its awesome looking in person, most of the billboards and video clips dont do it much justice. even being behind one in traffic isnt the same as standing face to face with one. I wonder what one would look like lowered just a couple inches.

I agree with you. While it looks good in advertisements, it actually looks better in person. I really like the back ones. You have a color preference?

Re: New caliber hate or like

black is my fav color, i used to have a 94 eclipse, black with black leather int. and black tint was great. it grew one me so thats definately the color i prefer. but i think these look good in any color as long as they dont have the unpainted plastic panels which just makes any car look extremeely cheap and thrown together. ;p

I can understand that. I haven't seen a Caliber on the road yet, with a color that I didn't like. They all look pretty good, but I agree, you can never go wrong with black.
