Question SES light when gas tank gets empty

My wifes 98 TP gets a SES light when the gas tank nears empty and goes away after she refills. Haven't had a chance to check which code its getting but its got me wondering why??
Any ideas?

Reading the code would likely tell you. My guess is it is one of the emissions codes, such as the EVAP canister, that gets flaky when you are low on gas.

As a side note, it is not recommended to run the take low. The fuel pump uses the gas as a form of a coolant. Running low on gas can cause your fuel pump to run hot, causing premature failure. It's a several hundred dollar part and isn't the easiest to get to...

Thanks for the reply, I was leaning towards a evap problem. One of these days I'll get the error code read.

Did a scan and got these DTC but it doesn't make any sense as to why (yet) these codes are pulled.
