Need some help/advice with my 1991 grand marquis

"Apr 27/06 4:33PM: Yes i have a 1991 Grand Marquis, and the battery check light and check engine light is on. Car engine runs, but does not seem to be gettin enough power. All windows, and turn signals and Wipers move incredibly slow at times. I just put a Brand new Battery in the car today, and it runs a little bit better but still batt light is on and so is the check engine. The spark plugs were changed but not the wires to them. The engine has been flushed out, oil is good. Not one single leak anywhere on the car. No Rust in any bad spots. Car is pretty much like brand new. THis electrical problem started when i changed the spark plugs, and replaced a window motor, and a window switch. Please let me know what it might be. Car starts but only when it is jumped. While runnin and driving at the same time, car still seems to not be gettin enough power. Does the alternater have to be replaced? This car is a custom car. Lots of electrical devices, stero, amps, t.v's etc. Was working fine until the window motor, spark plugs, and window switch was replaced. Please help and give me some advice so i can get it runnin again. Thanks." Electrical / Lighting Systems - Other - always - happens always

Go to Autozone or Advanced Auto an have alternator checked. If you haven't added additional electrical equipment ,amps on alt. should be fine, but make sure it is putting out enough amps to supply the demand. Make sure there are no grounds to the repairs recently made.

I would also check to see if while doing the plugs a wire or connection was disturbed or broken (been there done that),Good Luck

The battery check light indicates a bad alternator 98% of the time. This would also have the symptoms you describe. Take it to autozone and they will check it for free.
