Extremely Jerky Idle

Hello all, i've got a problem that just popped up recently. It started ideling very jerky and occasionally it will die, but that's only happened once or twice. I had a friend to some typical tune up stuff and change the plugs etc.. but he said he noticed a gas small in the oil tank, as well as some fumes coming from it. He mentioned it could be blow by. Now i also have recently had the throttlebody flushed as well and as i mentioned before, the typical oil change and tune up type stuff. When the car is moving there is some hesitation, but otherwise i still can go the normal speed...so power is there.. but there is also a sputtering sound from the tail pipe. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Re: Extremely Jerky Idle

Check the PCV valve located beside the throttle body, it connects to the valve cover. That could be causing your jerky idle and weird smell, hopefully it is that, only a few bucks for a new PCV. There is a thread right on this page about it, check it out.
