Buick Century transmission

I have a 2005 century. It seems to have problems going up steep hills. If I am stopped on a steep hill going up the car starts to roll backwards like a toy car and not just a little bit. I have to to hold my foot on the brake and then really give it gas to prevent it from smashing into the car behind it. In which case it spurts forward. I took it into a dealer (warranty service) and he claimed it is normal. It also does it when going up in reverse on a steep hill facing downwards. Is this normal for this car? If not what could be the problem?

Re: Buick Century transmission

Find another dealer to service your car. This is not normal since the transmission should hold the car on slight inclines. It sounds like you may have a bad torque converter on this car.
