00 Odyssey TP Sensor Low Voltage Code P0122

My 2000 Odyssey has engine light on. And I let my mechanic scanned and cleared the code P0122. And advised that if it comes back on again with same codeP0122 then I need to replace the Throttle Body. That part would cost me Cnd$700 plus labor. Which is really expensive for me.
Since I dont feel anything different on the drivability, do I really need to replace the Throttle Body ? What are my options if any ?

Thanks.

Re: 00 Odyssey TP Sensor Low Voltage Code P0122

Well, I looked at my shop manual for my Accord (same engine control system). The mechanic is right. IF the TP sensor is bad, then it is supposedly not serviceable separate from the throttle body. However, the troubleshooting tree shows that besides the sensor, the wiring could also be bad or intermittent and cause the same fault code. Are you sure the mechanics checked the wiring before he said the TB is bad?

You might call Honda and ask them if it is truly non-replaceable because sometimes they say that is the case but they end up having "workarounds" that allow you to not replace the big assemblies.

If the mechanic is 100% sure the TB is bad, then perhaps you could check car-part.com for a used one.....Good luck, Glen
