2000 se rough idle
Problem just started today. We have a 2000 SE which started idling rough and dying. It will idle smooth at times but drops to about 500 rpm and surges trying to idle and die. Ran it down for a code check, and 7 codes came back.
3 said something about "too lean", 1 said something about oxygen sensor, and the others said something about throttle and pedal. Anyone have any ideas? |

Re: 2000 se rough idle
There's a lot of good people willing to help out here, but the exact codes are needed to begin, also mileage and engine type are always helpful.

Re: 2000 se rough idle
Sounds like you probably have a vacuum leak. Check all the hoses, and take a good look at the main air intake hose from the aircleaner. If this comes unseated, the car will barely run and may stall when loaded. Another common leak source on all Fords are the PCV hoses, which seem to rot as quick as you can replace them on some cars. Anyhow, there's my two pesos, good luck with it and let us know what turns up.
