COMPLETE: Bobby Allison 1972 Coca Cola Monte Carlo
Whew, finally got to use these awesome Fred Cady decals. Began with a '70 Monte Carlo SS kit (as seen in the WIP thread)... body is two-tone Tamiya Gold and Dupli-color GM Bright Red, with Tamiya clear over the decals. Engine is a 427, box stock except plug wires and headers from a later NASCAR model. Negative camber on both wheels indicates a road course car
... Interior was a cage kitbashed from a later model NASCAR kit, with the old school racing seat. Rear seat was hacked out and smoothed, and the firewall was made of plain sheet styrene (the stock one has a heater core in the way.) Only thing I'm not really happy with is the ride height, definitely should be lower but I was limited with the room I had for the tires to clear. Wasn't expecting that until the kit was almost complete. That and the bit of glue on the windshield. If I had to do it again, I'd use the Monte Carlo lowrider kit for its adjustable suspension, and take more time to measure the wheelwells. Comments welcome.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
