throttle is stuck open

my throttle is stuck open on my 90 cavalier and don't know way or what is causeing it to stick open?

cable is bound up. It's is basically a set of steel wire in a steel wrapped tube with plastic over it. The cable is ripped and gets stuck. Usually the petal gets sticky for a while before that though? is that what you are talking about

no the throttle body is closed but it still reving up it a manuel. tried to hit gas to see if will stop but it gets worse.

Yea take the little throttle body cover off and look at the cable.
