Vacuum Lines

I was looking at getting rid of all the vacuum lines I don't need and re-doing my home depot intake. I am blocking off the EGR, and wanted to know which vacuum lines I actually need running to my TB and intake manifold, and Air Intake. I am hoping to eliminate all lines running to the air intake. I know I need the line for my brake booster obviously. But what are all of those little lines underneath the charcoal canister? I threw it away so i need to do something with those. The vent line that ran from the valve cover to the air intake, can that be capped? Since I have an MBC i dont need the line running to the air intake for that correct? And what do the lines running to the TB control? which ones are needed and not? I know this is a lot of rambling, but if anyone can sort any of this out and help me it would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT---> Also instead of just connecting the in and out water lines on the TB I was thinking of dropping the whole unit of and building a block off plate for it also. Has anyone done this? Thanks again.

I am also trying to figure out what they are all for. I will tell you that we do not need any of the charcoal canister lines and stuff. Cut em all out of there and then Y the two remaining lines together and put a little breather filter on the end of that. That way our gas tanks can still be vented. The line from the valve cover to the intake is not needed. All it is there for is to allow pressure in and out of the valve cover and so oil doesn't spray everywhere. Put a little breather filter on the valve cover for that too. You can block off the water line from running through the TB, but when its cold out you will need to rev it to keep it running. Once its warmed up it'll be fine. But its a very good thing to do because once your coolant is hot and running through the TB like that it heats up the air a ton. I am getting a N/T TB from my one friend and it already has it blocked off.

Please do keep me upated on the vaccum lines though if you find anymore info about them outside of AF. I can't seem to find anywhere where they have just a picture with arrows pointing to which ones are what. Thats what we really need to find... If not, but we do find out which ones are not needed, then I can make one with the picture of my TB I have.

Re: Vacuum Lines

I know I've posted the diagram that shows exactly what you need to have and where. If you can't find it here, it's on Tuners under an article.

Booya!

Ok, so if I understand the diagram right, we can completely remove all those solenoids? Just run the FPR off of the intake vaccum and also T our boost gauges into it? If this is all how I'm understanding it then it would be nice to take off all those unneeded solenoids and get them out of the way. As long as it won't throw a CEL then.

Re: Vacuum Lines

The line that runs from your valve cover to your intake manifold sucks air from your intake tube to cool your heads.

Dude, no it doesn't... Its for it to release pressure from the valve cover...

You've GOT to be joking, then we might as well do without any type of coolant flow to the head. Seriously dude, learn what you're talking about before you post something like that.

And for the record, we have 1 head, not 2.

Yeah I think I am just going to throw a long hose on there and call it good(Fast and the Furious style). If I had some extra money a would get that small catch can from RRE.
