99 silverado replace leather seat covering

i have a 99 silverado LT EXT CAB with graphite leather seats.....I have 118,00 miles and decided it is time to replace my seat coverings.....I am looink on ebay and I am finding alot of 03-06 silverado leather oem seat covers, I looked at katzkin and they have a different part number for a 99-02 and 03-06 seat covers.....Also some ebay adds say that the 03-06 coves willl work on stock 99-02 seat that do not have heated seats...wht is that or are they mistaken. The only thing I see that may be different on my 99 silverado than a 03 or new is that some of the newer tahoes and silverados have side airbags that have an opening in the leather where the airbags would go. So I wil stay away from them... Also have anybody here had any luck with any other aftermarket companies?....if so can you post them???? or tel me where I can get a full set for a decent price....$250-$500 ??

Only thing i can offer is a bit of advice. With having 118,000 miles on your truck, what kind of shape is the actually seat in ? I would hate to see someone spend a decent amount of money on new seat coverings and have them not fit well cause the seat foam itslef is all compressed down. I know in my 2000 with approx 65000 miles that there is quite a difference in the firmness between the drivers and passengers seats. Personally i would check into how much it would cost getting the foam rebuilt on the drivers seat prior to installing whatever covers you end up buying. It might be a little more bit costly but i think the comfort will be worth it......... just a thought.

You are correct, the 2003+ seats are different from the 99-02 models...the seam pattern changed which (I would assume) means that the underlying support foam is different as well. I would be hesitant to say that they are 100% interchangable. Whether or not they were heated may have something to do with the foam, but I doubt that the seam pattern varied just for that.

Your best bet would be to stick with a 99-02. If you just have a few worn spots, an auto upholstery shop can usually replace individual sections. That might be more cost effective for you.

i've got a '99 also 145,000mi heated leather.
40,000 ago seam in the leather came loose, the naugahyde on the side was worse for the wear. leather at the seat bottom was loose and saggy looking.
yanked the seat took it to an upostry shop, two days and $140 u.s. later it looked like a new seat

I found out a little more about the 99-02 seats.....the 99-02 heates seats have the heating elements in the seat covers themselfs and are a little larger than the 03-06......the 03-06 haVE THE HEATING ELEMEnts in the foam....
