Ignition problem

Hi, I've just experienced an odd problem. I had just drove the car down to the petrol station, filled it up and when I came back to start it, the key would not turn at all. After about ten minutes and getting some help in pushing the car out the way, the key turned and the engine could start. I’ve only had the car one day, and I am wondering if there is any reason for the car to do this.
