Don't know how many have cable... (Had satellite & just switched to cable last week).
Found 2 shows saved on that On-Demand thing that were freaking awsome. Pump Gas Drags... Hot Rod Magazine sponsored race on who has the fastest street car in the US.. Winner ran a 9.40 (pretty sure) in the quarter... BADASS! If you can find this show watch it. Pink Slips... heard about but never saw it, until last night. Now on a mission to watch the rest of 'em. Guy lost his 66 GTO to a 34 Ford... Awesome show. Back to work... |

Re: Pump Gas Drags - Pink Slips
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!
Progress... trans pulled, cleaned and MOSTLY disassembled... need press for 2/3 on mainshaft... hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Reverse idler and main shaft reverse gear are ground up a little, needs 1/2 & 3/4 shift forks... not too bad but trying to decide if it's worth the $150 to replace the reveerse gears, shift forks are definite though. There was SOOOOO much crap up in the shifter it's a miracle it even shifted... rocks, dirt, grease, grime.... hot soaked, degreased, carb cleanered, power washed, and compressed air to get that shit out of there. You wouldn't believe it. Also figured that I might as well redo engine from the block up... and try to salvage as much as I can from what's there to save some $. Definiately buying: New rings, bearings, seals / gaskets Oil Pan / Oil Pump / Windage tray etc. Water Pump Headers Plug wires New brakes Turndowns Would LIKE to buy: Front rims and tries (might have to stick with skinnies for a while though) Valve covers Carb Braided lines New fuse block Power steering pump Electric windows and locks radio... well.... nahhhhhhh... won't be able to hear it anyway. My buddy is trying to get me to go the conservative route and just fix what is broke... and he's got a definate point... proabably spend $500 or so, compared to $1200 or so... and I'm really torn as to what to do. Some of the money I had set aside had to be spent on other shit, so the funds that WERE there aren't now (FUCKFUCKFUCK) BUT I only want to do this once. Why take the bastard out and replace only what's broken and sew it up, only to have something else break in 6 months or a year. I mean, let's face it, I really DON'T know what was done to it before I bought it, or if whoever did whatvere they did knew what they the fuck they were doing. If they did, I doubt I'd be having all the problems I am now. I've still got your number Dylan, I'm gonna call you over the weekend, when I get a chance. |

Re: Pump Gas Drags - Pink Slips
haha, didn't I say something like that about funds needing to be redirected?
![]() Shouldn't be up to too much this weekend, in-laws coming home. Saturday night, will probably be having a 'maro bon fire, tired of the damn thing. Everythingis right one second, then all wrong the next, wife still hasn't coughed up the cash for the dizzy yet so fuck it, either the sorry bastards that loaf around my house all the time help out and push the pos back to the garage or the city can have it, it's a 3500 lb paper wieght to me anyway. I parked it nice and close to the neighbors driveway to up the ticket factor |

Anyway, I agree with your friend, 454 is stout enough, why drive yourself in the poor house throwing go fast goodies at it, what a sec, that was a dumb ass question.

Re: Pump Gas Drags - Pink Slips
Pinks is the biggest goddamn joke of a show... a couple guys in my club went to be on it when it first started out... it's all staged, and also they're not really losing their car... prior to the show the owners make a deal like "loser buys the winner a cheeseburger and get his car back"

Re: Pump Gas Drags - Pink Slips
No shit Kasey? If so than that IS bullshit. (Was thinking that the papers that were being signed/handed over didn't look like real titles.) And yeah, if the host just strained himself a little bit, he'd probably wind up crapping on the track when he drops his arms.
Right on Rally.. But I would demand Cheesesteaks and Beers... and maybe a box of Krispy Kremes too- or Canoli's. |

I'd probably be so fat that I'd weigh the car down and lose the race.

Re: Pump Gas Drags - Pink Slips
if you think about it..who in their right mind would risk losing a car that they just spent 20000-30000 dollars on and countless hours building. I would race for a cheeseburger though....
