Door Ajar

Door ajar light keeps coming on, along with an annoying buzzer. Dome light keeps killing my battery when not in the car. How do you stop this. Quick work around if possible. I don't really want to replace the sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Door Ajar

Turn dome lite switch to OFF position so it wont turn on when door is open. Remove sensor from door jamb and check to be sure no frayed or broken wires and it is grounding properly. Be sure door is closing completely and if not adjust striker plate on door jamb so it will close tighter. Only quick fixes I can think of. BJ

Re: Door Ajar

Same thing used to happen to me, especially in the winter. The dome light would even come on while I was driving.

Spray WD-40 on the latch, on both doors. In my truck, the latch was just getting stuck before closing all the way. Grease it up and everything should run smoothly.
