Possible 92 VR4 for sale -- many new parts

This isn't for sale YET, but it's a possibility.

I might move to DC for a new job, and if I do, I will sell my car. It is a 92 VR4 with 126k on it. This is what I've done to the vehicle in the last 15 months: (the prices in bold is how much approximately I paid)

Rebuilt tranny/xfer case - $2750 for tranny/xfer case; $150 for seals/bearing; + labor
solid motor mounts - $225 + labor
k&n fipk - $150
brand new control arms - $2xx + labor
replaced rear axle - $2xx + labor
new paint job on 60% of the car + new passenger fender/door skin - $3500
new tires in the back - $2xx
front tires have ~10k on them - $2xx
60k done 14k ago - $7xx parts/labor
new rps streetmax clutch - $1000 parts/labor
completely serious stereo system. consists of 2 12" Kicker L7 subs (the newest version) running off of a Hifonics Brutus 1500W amp in a custom ported box build by smokinvr-4 from 3si (only 3 in existance). Infinity Kappa 6x9's, Infinity Kappa 6.5's, Pioneer P7500MP cd player (plays mp3s and xm ready) the infinity speakers were $2xx for both front and back, the wiring was about $80 (4 ga power, 4 ga ground, fuse etc...), the amp was about $250, the box was $400 shipped, the speakers were $4xx + shipping, the cd player was $2xx

The only thing mechanically wrong is that the car will need a replacement IAC and the oil pump done, as well as rotors for the front.

The only thing wrong with the body is a smallish dent in the right rear quarter panel, a few very minor dents in the drivers side door, and a few small scratches on the hood.

As of yesterday the hood, and the whole right side of the vehicle has been repainted, along with the side skirts are brand new and painted. It is very shiny and beautiful looking as well. I had the windows tinted at 30% on the sides and 15% on the back, but the back window was vandalised and I had that replaced in February. Have not been able to re-do the tint yet on the back window (but when I do, it will be 0% tint). The drivers side tint has been removed as it tore last winter due to the window being so cold. I want to re-do that as well.

I have put many hours of downtime and money into replacing the parts and keeping the maintenance on the vehicle. I use Mobile one 10w-30 oil during the summer and 20w-50 during the winter. It has only been on 3 long road trips since I've owned it. 1 trip to Chicago (4 hours from me) and 2 trips to Omaha (4 hours as well).

I bought the vehicle on 2/19/03 with 83,333 miles on it, and it's just over 126k right now, and 90% of the miles are highway/interstate miles.

I am looking for $7500 OBO for everything including the system in the vehicle. I would rather sell it as a whole instead of trying to part out my stereo system.

well the whole point of me selling it would be so I could afford to move. After I get settled down and stuff, I might buy another.

Well best of luck with the possible job, but it would suck to see you have to sell it, after all the time, money, and effort you put into that car.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Possible 92 VR4 for sale -- many new parts

The vehicle is for sale as of today. I need this sold asap as I will be moving to D.C.

For anyone on the east coast, if you want to buy it, I can drive it from where I live (Iowa) to the east coast for you to buy it since I am going out and will be in the northern virginia/DC area.

Re: Possible 92 VR4 for sale -- many new parts

I had a seller for an IAC on 3si.org for $25. All it does is help control the idle. Currently my idle will jump around a bit after it's warmed up. an easy $25 fix and you can replace it yourself in 15 minutes (I took it off to clean it a while back and was very easy)
