How Do You Disassemble The Dash Of A 1992 Honda Civic?

I'd like to know that as well, i'm havin no luck whatsoever googling it or anywhere for that matter.

Since there doesn't seem to be alot of people that know how to do this or know how to do this and not share information i spent the day at the autowreckers and took a dash off a civic.

These are the tools you need to do the job

Short, medium and long length philips screwdrivers
your metric socket set, more specifically 10mm, 12mm(i can't remember if i used it but i had it) and 19mm
ratchet and at least a 6inch extension
flat head screwdriver

basic steps no details

first thing i did was take off the ashtray/change thingy, there are 2 screws on each side of the thing, once those are out, there is wiring for the lighter unplug that and shimmy it out.

next thing to take off is glove box, you will have to open it and on each side in the back on the left side there are 2 screws there and on the other side there is 1 screw and one bolt. once you have them out, wiggle it out till it falls off.

under the steering column there are 3 screws unscrew those and that panel will come off.

after those are done i'd then take off the heating vent on top of the dash, they are held in place by snap thingys.

i'd then take off the steering wheel, and the windshield washer/ turning light signals.

once all of those are off, there are 5 bolts that hold the dash to the car, there are 2 on the side of the dash there is 1 bolt that was hiding under the top center heating vent, and there is also a bolt in the center bottom where the ashtray/change tray piece was. and there is a bolt close to the fuses and you already took off the last bolt when you took off the glove box

since i'm replacing the dash around the radio and temperature controls, i do not know all the steps to remove the stereo and temperature controls.

the last thing you have to remove is the speedometer housing and vents, there are 2 screws on the top, and if you take out your hazard lights there is a screw under the hazard lights.

once you have removed all those pieces the dash should easily flip over onto the seats, be careful of any wiring, i did not care or notice for any wiring for i was working on a wrecked civic so i was cuttin any wires that were in my way.

if you are taking off the dash to replace the dash piece that goes around the radio and temperature controls,

this is what i did, i just ripped off the old piece bought some "goop" glue at canadian tire and glued the new dash onto the car. if anyone needs any instrustion on how to install the temperature controls back into the car i am putting that on tomorrow. i will edit this information if i come across anything i might have missed.
