Question Help!!!

I can't figure out whats going on with my 1991 Pontiac Sunbird! The E-brake won't let go unless I play with it for bloody half an hour first. Then it emmits this wierd bitter smell. It's only been doing this for one day, and before I take it in I want to have an idea of what to expect... being female most mechanics assume I don't know whats going on and I like to be prepared! Please help!!

Re: Help!!!

Could be the cables are rusted not allowing the mechanism to release or the internal parking brake linkage in the rear brakes binding, no matter what this has to be checked out on site, too many possibilities.
