2000 Wrangler leaks
I need any help I can get.... I have a 2000 Wrangler and both the drivers and pass. side leaks. It only really leaks when we have a good long steady rain. As I am driving I can feel it dripping down on my left foot. I thought it was only the drivers side but I found water on the pass side. I dont think it is comming from the top, windshield, or the doors. I do believe it is comming from back towards the peadles. I am so frustrated and about to sell my baby!

Re: 2000 Wrangler leaks
Had the same problem on an '02. Never found the actual leak but it was a hardtop so we didn't take the top off.
Thought it might have been coming from the gap in the windshield, where it folds. If the gasket there is pinched it could have enough of a gap for water to get in.

Re: 2000 Wrangler leaks
I agree with the previous post, sell your jeep over a little leak? Come on, that has to be the least of the downsides of driving a jeep! About the leak though, I've had the same problem on my '97 but its primarily on the passenger side. After it rains, the passenger footwell is moist. Often this water is coming in through your heater/ac air vent just in front of your windshield. If you look at this vent you can see that it is obvious that water can get in and go down the vent. Normally this water just runs out a drain at the bottom of the vent. Unfortunately over time you get leaves, dirt and other junk in the vent cavity, and eventually the drain gets clogged. Once the drain gets clogged the water can back up and start to drip into the vehicle from under the dash. The solution is to pull off the metal panel that the vent slots are cut into, and clean out the bottom of the vent cavity to clear the drain. The panel comes off easily, just unscrew and pull it off. Be carefull not to scratch your paint with the screwdriver! Good luck!

Re: 2000 Wrangler leaks
I know what is causing the leak in your jeep but I am not exactly sure how to explain it. On the hood of your jeep where a lot of people put an air scoop. Is a big hole that water will actually get into all the time. This is where the heating and airconditioning system sucks fresh air in to put into the jeep. It dumps right into the foot well areas. Over time the seals that keep water out or something in there will go letting water into the inside of the jeep. This is why a lot of people will put an airscoop over that hole to keep water out. It also directs more fresher air into the heating system making it more effective.
