Temp Gauge
Gauge reads pinned hot when truck shut-off. When engine first started it moves then is pinned again immediately. I figure its the sending unit but anything else I should check. Its a 4 cylinder is it located on the front by water pump.

Your probably right.
However it might also be a wire grounding out. Try the sender first.
