I've been using the Michelin Pilot Sports for awhile now and am satisfied with them. Not sure what I'll get next when I need new ones.

anything, but the stock tires. Changing the tires is the best/smartest upgrade for the Intrigue. Buy a nice $80+ touring type tire and you will be very happy = It acts like a whole different car. Smooth like a Buick, but with extreme control.

BFG Control Plus M80 (don't make it anymore = new one is a little different treadwise) These tires were also extremely good in the snow the first year I got them. Really almost a perfect tire for this car and for my state (WI) without having to goto dedicated snow tires.

Did you notice that the shifting was all goofy during the 3->Overdrive upshift around 40mph when you changed tires? The tranny wanted to shift into overdrive because it was going 40mph, but the revs were too low with the taller tires to support the shift. = It would keep shifting back and forth at ~38-40 mph with the new taller tires. Now it shifts perfectly (smart tranny)

Hi, I'm with Panzer. I am running BF Goodrich from Sam's. These were the least expensive tires Sam's stocked, but highly lauded by their tire guys. I have been very happy with the dramatic improvement over my admittedly worn OEM Goodyears. I would have happily had the Michellin X radial (wholesale club tire) as I ran a set of those through my Ford windstar. Close to 80k on those tires with no problems. However they are $105+ where the Goodrich's came in around $70.

I am looking into getting Toyo Spectrums in about a week, the economy tire. I have read very high reviews of this tire and is at my local shop for $82 including everything but tax. Any one else have the Spectrums?

I have stinky Cooper Lifeliners. They were on the car when I got it at 43K miles. Now at 58k miles, they are pretty worn. I'm looking at Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. I know they are a little pricey, but I have a friend who has them on his Impala and they are really grippy in all kinds of weather. Plus, they have a cool tread pattern.

After the original Goodyears wore out (42K), I got BFG Traction T/As. Good traction but after a while I thought I had a bad front bearing going up. I just replaced them @ 77k and the noise went away! The replacements are BFG Comp TA 225/55-R17 on SLP aluminum rims. INCREDIBLE traction in turns, now I need new struts. I already have strut tower braces from SLP installed front and back. my first post was wrong. Originally the tire looked just like the link above. Then it changed to the other tread type which was ok. Now it has changed back to the original look (the one you want).

This tire has nice flex, but with a long lasting (80K) rubber. The large side-cuts (sipes) really help in the wet and snow. The center area is mostly rubber which is great on the highway. You wouldn't expect a tire with so many cuts to last long, but the rubber on this tire is very tough yet also flexes. The sidewalls are strong so the tire sits up nice = like a good touring tire should. Very little (if any) highway noise.

These BFG control (80K) tires had so much bite when new I could not spin them even in the wet. The original tires were really greasy and would spin with ease in the wet, and in the dry they would slide all over the place during a sharp turn on concrete. Now the tread is starting to wear down and the BFG control will spin during hard 1st gear accelerations before they lock-in with a firm chirp. They were only fair in the snow this year (2nd Winter). When new, they were awesome in the snow. Not as good as the tar-rubber Nokians, but then those tires would only last 20K miles. I would expect at least 50-60K hard miles in these BFGs. I think I have 30-40K miles on them now (car 92K)

When our original Goodyear Eagle RS-As wore out, I replaced them with a set of Goodyear Eagle ZR60 "gatorbacks" in the stock size. They're awesome but since you can't get them anymore, I'm going to replace them with a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE750s.

I'm moving away from Goodyear on all of our cars to Bridgestones.

I have the GY TripleTreds and I love them.They handle great in all weather conditions and are pretty quiet.I have about 20K on them right now,no complaints.

I now have the Toyo Spectrums on my Intrigue. They run great and perform well in the rain and on wet pavement.
