Noise Under Shift?

Hello Everybody. I own a 1995 Ford Aspire. 5speed. I purchased it in 1999. Then I moved so I gave it to my brother, He wrecked my Moms car, so he gave it to her, and now It's mine again. During that time it's had a new clutch and a transmition swap, recently.

Amongst other noises, the one I'm worried about sounds like a metal against metal rattle that you can hear in the car and out. It's coming from under the shifter. It doesn't change pitch, just comes and goes wether it's idoling or moving, or in gear or out. I pulled the molding off from around it and couldn't find it, inside the car.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's something serious like the transmission wasn't installed properly, or if it is something easy like a penny wedged in somewhere.

Yea, I got a rattle there by the shifter, its the exhaust pipe heat shield by the rear O2, but on your 95 I don't think you have a rear O2 but check it anyway.

Thank you, I just finished tearing everything on the to side apart, and couldn't find anything, I'll start on the bottom this weekend.
