Re: squeaky belt

Try to isolate the problem a little. Is it actually a pulley or one of the things the belt is driving (a/c, alternator, etc.) squeaking? Is the belt actually slipping? Could be a number of things. Maybe the belt just needs re-tensioning, or actually needs to be replaced.

Re: squeaky belt

You should replace the belt every 60,000 miles unless you drive in a lot of dirt then you should replace it more often. Also I have seen factory belts start squeeking after about 10,000 miles. Make sure that you get a good belt and not a cheap one. Also DO NOT use any belt dressing on a micro-v belt it will cause more problems than it is worth.

Re: squeaky belt

I used to have the same problem but when I checked my belt it looked fine. Took it to the dealer and they looked at the belt and thought it was fine. They tried oiling it but that didnt work so they replaced the belt and the squeeking went away.
