2006 Monte Carlo
I am thinking about purchasing a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo, 2LT.
Any experiances with this car? Any pros or cons from anyone? It'd be great to get some advice from someone who owns this car. Thanks! |

Not sure about the LT's, but I have the SS and I LOVE IT! Performance is excellent for me, but the LT has a different motor/suspension, so yours will be different. But in general, I haven't had any problems with the car whatsoever. I took delivery of mine back in November and have about 9K miles on already, just switched to Mobil 1, and the car is an animal. don't go for the upgraded Bose stereo stuff, it's been problematic for a LOT of people, hissing, crackling, etc. I have the standard radio with cd/mp3 and it's good enough for me. |

Re: 2006 Monte Carlo
You may have already made your decision but here's my $0.02.
I bought the 3LT model in March and have put 6,700 miles on her so far. It is a GREAT car. I could not be more satisfied. The performance and comfort have exceeded my hopes so far. I have several reasons for choosing the 3LT over the SS that may or may not apply to others. The SS drove great and was a joy to listen to. 1. I know myself and even though the EPA rating for the SS is not far off from the 3.9L models, that does not take into account how I would drive the car. I test drove the SS and felt I would be spending too much time listening to that great V-8 sound. Knowing myself that would have me goosing the SH_T out of it continually just to hear the exhaust music. That would pretty much put the gas mileage in the tank(no pun intended). I have been averaging 24.5 MPG combined on every tank since I bought the 3LT. 2. After having to spend $400.00 a tire for my Corvette tires I wanted to minimize that expendature when it came time to replace rubber since I would be commuting in the Monty. I cannot complain so far with my purchase. I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP 2 dr coupe (sister model to the Monty)that just turned over 141,000 relatively trouble-free miles so I feel the reliability and satisfaction will be every bit as good with the Monty. Good luck with your choice.

I like our 2006 LS , Bought from a Toyota Dealer in ILL. Off Ebay in Nov 07 with 8500 miles for $12000. Had to drive from Detroit to Chicago to pick-up though.
Now 14000 mi. no problems yet, but should have got the 3.9L, as the 3.5L seems to be underpowered and the factory stereo sucks balls...Still A Fine Ride..... |
