1995 Ranger air filter

Ok guys I found my Air filter and I want to replace it as im suspecting the orginal one from the factory is still in there. So how do i go about removing the housing around it. I unclipped the little clip there but it just seemed to make it loose but not come off. how do i do this. Also what kinda of tranny oil is in the 5sp 4cylder ranger?

Re: 1995 Ranger air filter

I believe I remember some screws on mine ... along with the clips.

As you buy your replacement filter, be sure to notice the thickness of the sponge-rubber perimeter seal. One aftermarket filter I purchased (from Advanced Auto ... can't remember which brand) was too thin ... and allowed leakage bypassing the filter. Luckily I noticed it before really putting it in service.

Re: 1995 Ranger air filter

on my 95 it just pulls apart after removing the clip, and the manual 5speed uses automatic trans fluid...
