Unhappy A/C Problem 1996 astro

Any ideas or experience about this problem???
The A/C start and work about 10 seconds, then it quit and some time come back and some not, if I turn the ac control off and then again on, it will do the same again...low gas? no, I set a gauge in the low pressure inlet and it is actually high, about 80 to 100 psi.... I have not yet check the electrical side...that's tomorrows work....any ideas??? before it work perfect but it was not used for about 3 months...now heat is back and tryed to use it , now to fix it.....the test pressure was with the unit running and set to full a/c, front and back...any help welcome!!!!

Checking for freon is not like checking tire pressure.
You will need a air cond recharge set with high and low gauges.
Do not even think about one of them wall mart recharge death killer kits.
The only way to tell if it has gas or out of gas is with compressor running.
We need to know the high and low pressure readings with the compresser jumped/ compressor running. At idle and at 2000 RPM.
And be carefull how you jump the compresser.
Post back pressure readings.
