I need a new clutch???

Well it is time for me to buy a new clutch.

You forgot JWT. The JWT pressure plate has 33% more clamping force than the stock PP, yet it requires less pedal pressure! They do this by changing the fulcrum point on the "fingers."

I would only recommend the JWT or the ACT (also a good buy).

Both are well proven clutches. The SE-R community has tried many other clutches and these are the only two you would find me spending my money on. Check the SE-R mailing list archives for information on clutches. It will make your hair stand up.

If you are looking for less expensive replacement clutch (vs a performance clutch) Nissan sells their Value Line clutch kit (PP, disc, and TO bearing). Last I knew Courtesy Nissan sold this for under $100.

If you're going crazy power get the ACT...otherwise get the JWT. Joe (lurker on the fourm) came buy to check out my wheels. Well he has a JWT and I tried it out and the action was SO light. I was quite impressed. The JWT will easily hold the power of all the basic bolt on's.

Does anyone know much about the Sache Clutch kits? Quality? Grip? OEM comparison?

I consistently see them on eBay for $110 and am always wondering if they are worth looking into.

I must be getting tired. In my previous post, I meant to ask about the eBay auctions for the clutch kits made by Paraut, not Sache.

Could anyone shed some light on the quality of those clutch kits?

Actually, I'm using the JWT clutch set-up with my DET. Of course, I'm not very hard on a clutch (my original in my SE-R lasted 159k miles - removed it when I swapped engines).

If you don't do burnouts or see if you can scratch your tires, it will hold a fair bit above 200 bhp.

Are you sure it's not Sachs clutch? Sachs makes some performance clutches, but I am not aware of any for the SR20. I know they make an OEM replacement, but that's all it is.

As for the clutches on eBay, they are essentially Nissan Key Value clutch kits. Call Courtesy Nissan first. (800) 527-1909

I should have been more specific but crazy power to me is like 300whp+. DET power is good but not crazy.
