Alignment question

My girlfriend drove my car a few months ago in the snow and spun out in an icy parking lot i guess and hit the curb hard with the back left wheel.

Now the car vibrates from that wheel even after changing the bent rim with good ones.

It vibrates pretty bad over 40 and im wondering if an alignment will for sure stop this and fix the problem... thanks

Re: Alignment question

It sounds like the actual hub itself is bent say down cause when she hit it the whole tire and hub assembly bent in on the bottom so now when the tire turns the whole hub is causing the tire to go in and out ever 360 degree rotation. I would think to fix this you would need to change the whole hub assembly, but most likely I'm wrong cause I'm not very good with the AWD.

Re: Alignment question

Either the hub is fucked up like ned said or she could have even tweaked the whole rear axle. And yes, an alignment will help you solve the problem.

Re: Alignment question

It did hit from like the side so not like driving over the curb but sliding into it sideways...

If this did indeed bend the hub or whatever an alignment will for sure fix it?

Re: Alignment question

Well you'll have to get an alignment to see what is bent, replace the bent part, and then get another alignment to get everything set straight. And i realize that she hit it sideways, therefore she could have tweaked either the axle or even the mounts for it. Hopefully you'll get lucky and it will be something smaller, but either way I wouldn't drive it much until you figure out what the problem is.

Re: Alignment question

I think your problem is letting you girlfriend drive your car. Fix that then let us know if that solves the problem.
