Fuel Help...

Ok, just recently my 1990 cutlass supreme began to have trouble running. when I start it, it idles real rough and then dies if I take my foot off the gas. The tow truck driver told me it sounded like a fuel pump, but I was wondering if it could be as simole as the filter...

Re: Fuel Help...

Welcome to AF!!

A blocked fuel filter will cause low fuel pressure and thus rough running. I would say you may be more successful by removing and cleaning the idle air control motor located on the side of the throttle body. Remove it and spray it with throttle body cleaner. Don't push it while it is out and make sure to clean the opening to the throttle body. Allow everything to dry and then reinstall. The rough idle should go away.
