Something is seriously wrong with my car. 1995 Pontiac Grand Am. I put the key in and turn the ignition...eerie silence. Radio doesn't turn on, dome light doesn't turn on, nothing. I try a bunch of times, nothing. The electric locks still work though. Sit and wait in car, hear a clicking noise. Try again, starts up. The next day, the same thing! What is going on? Please help. Thanks.

Re: '95 Grand Am -- Turn Key and Nothing
Sounds like a loose connection. Try tightening up battery cables and checking the fuses. Definitely sounds like a loose ground though. Make sure their's a good connection to the battery. If this doesnt help please let us know.

Re: '95 Grand Am -- Turn Key and Nothing
In addition to the battery cables, ensure all the GROUND connections are hooked up. (ie. there is a smaller black coming off the battery connection to the body, the large ground on the block and the one on the bolck-end of the battery ground cable.) Do the same with the hot wires. Make sure the hot is properly secured at the battery, alternator and starter soneloid.

how old is the battery itself? time for a free load-test @ your local parts store (usually does it for free)
