1998 Astro rear end width?
Hi everyone, newbie here. I'm on a number of other forums and stumbled upon yours this morning. I need a new rear end in my Astro, bad bearings and a leaking center section. I thought I'd try to upgrade to a 5-lug, disc brake rear end from another chevy like a blazer.
Can anyone tell me my rear end width? The blazer, I believe is 59". Thanks. |

Re: 1998 Astro rear end width?
I won't work. You must have an Astro/Safari rearend. They are offset to the right. The right(passenger) side axle is shorter than the left on the Astro/Safari. The S-10 and others is perfectly centered.
Crawl under your van and take a close look. Take a tape measure too. you will see what I mean.
