Will new alarm system allow me to remote open my doors.
Currently, my gm keyless remote doen't work. The Buick dealer tested the remote and said that the door unlock and trunk unlock functions should be able to work. The door lock functions on the remote wasn't workable. So the problem of the remote not functioning must be in the unit located in the car. I was wondering, I am planning to install an alarm system that includes keyless remote. Would the keyless remote on the alarm system then allow me to be able to do the functions that my gm keyless remote used to do ---anythough the gm unit would be nonworkable? Thanks.

The alarm system comes with its' own lock/ unlock unit, so it should work.
