windshield wipers
windshield wipers will not shut off.
what is causing this? how do i fix this? thanks for your help. |

Year of car? There could be a relay that is stuck open (if the circuit has a relay) causing the wipers to stay on.

![]() Anyway, you'd either have a bad wiper module (which you may or may not be able to replace separately, is inside the wiper motor assembly itself), a bad column switch, or back to a relay. The easiest thing to check first would be a relay...for your year of car I believe the relay center is in the enginebay somewhere towards the firewall. It should have a cover over it with a diagram of what relay is what. Try swapping in a relay for a known good circuit for your known bad circiut (wipers). You may want to do a search of the forums for more information too since my info is a bit dated (see sig )
