99 3.5L Engine Change - Other years?

Hi folks, I have a 99 Intrigue 3.5L that needs engine replaced. I have been looking for replacement (used low miles). The 3.5 was used 99-02 and also in the aurora yet the newer engines don't show up as a direct replace. Does anyone know if I could put in a 2002 Aurora 3.5L? Has anyone replaced their 99 with any other year? I read that 2000 had Cal. or Fed emissions and I know that would have additional plumbing. Any advice would be appreciated.

well like you said, the 99-02 Intrigue 3.5 should work just fine, any additional items you might need could probably be found on the donor car.

another option would be a 3.8 engine from a 98 Intrigue, or probably any W-body with the 3.8..im talking non-supercharged...should be a fairly direct swap, but dont quote me on that, the mounts for the engine may be different...but its something to think about.

as for the Auroa 3.5 i have no idea, im almost inclined to believe they are different, if you look up engine accessories i believe several parts are different such as the alternator...so the accessories are laid out differently im thinking...meaning it might not fit right.

3.8??? This would be lots harder than a Auroa engine

3.5...The brackets for the accesories may be differant, if so use the old ones or whatever you need from yours , and the same with emissions or whatever!!!
