in need of a new bed

after the worst night of my sleep last night i have reached the conclusion i need a new bed. the last time i bought a bed was back in my sophmore year in high school. i'm totally clueless to buying beds and need some advice. i really like the way the tempurpedic brand beds feel, but like many things, they are too expensive and i'm sure i'm paying for the name. basically i would like to know what you all sleep on (matress wise) and what i should look for when i'm lookin at mattresses?

i want to sort of have a low profile bed. i'm currently sleeping on a futon. i just the like not having to climb a mountain to go bed (it's better lower to the ground when you're faded and want to pass out). i'm also thinking about building myself a fram for the bed. but i don't know. it sort of depends on the bed i get. anyways, any help would be appreciated and now i get to go have another bad night of sleep.

Re: in need of a new bed

Most mattresses are pretty good nowadays. Don't get suckered in buying from some overpriced furniture store; look for sales and discount stores, that often have the same mattress but under a different brand name.

but keep in mind you get what you pay for. when it comes to mattresses, it's not a place you want to skimp and be cheap. a good mattress can have a good impact on your health, amount of sleep and quality of it and so on. getting a good deal is great, but make sure it's also good quality.

Re: in need of a new bed

i agree, my bed at home is unbelieveably comfortable, i have a spring box, and thn a really good matress that is supporting but soft. then at school i have a piece of crap bed and even with a foam covering for it it's still really bad and i dont sleep nearly as well here as at home. dont skimp on price, get something that's comfortable.

2 words: Pillow top. I am a HUGE fan of a good, firm mattress, but after sleeping on a firm mattress with a pillow top for the last year, I am ADDICTED. Oh, and have mercy on those with allergies... goose down isn't kind to sinuses.

Re: in need of a new bed

You could always try a tempurpedic. My cousins a physical therapist and after mocking the commercials she told me they are actually very beneficial.

I sleep on a king size waterbed with 60% polyfill. I sleep like a fucking baby. My wife loves it too, it's great.
