Oxygen sensor replacement

I am doing an oxygen sensor on a friend's car. I got trouble codes P0130 and P0134 so I am assuming it is the oxygen sensor right when you open the hood. It is a 4 speed 2.2 engine. The question I have is whether or not it is a heated oxygen sensor, and if I need that special slotted socket or if I can use a wrench instead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement

What does it really matter if it is heated or not. Replace it and the problem should go away. The job can be done without an O2 sensor socket but given the closeness of the area the socket is highly recommended. The sockets are only about 10 bucks and will save you a whole lot of hastle in the long run.

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement

It matters because they sell two types of O2 sensors, heated and un-heated. I am just wondering which one is on this car.

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement

Is it a 2 or 4 wire sensor? Also what year is this car?

Re: Oxygen sensor replacement

Should be unheated. The four wires are usually heated. Is this the front or rear sensor on the car?
