I need to replace the head gasket

because coolant is leaking outside the engine...
and I'm gonna do it myself to save the money

is there any mods that you need to remove the head ? cause I'll be removing it anyway and it takes time so...

the car is totally stock now but I'm gonna replace the exhaust soon

thanks in advance

Re: I need to replace the head gasket

You sure its leakin from the head??? Not just a hose or radiator?

If you are dead-set on pulling it off, some forged internals/boring out could be done...

Re: I need to replace the head gasket

Mine was leaking coolant everywhere on the passenger side of the motor, all over the wheel and whatnot, I ended up having to replace the water pump.

Yup, I just replaced mine a few months ago...
You'll notice some coolant on the serpentine belt, if it's been sitting for a while, and when you start it it will squel like a stuck pig.

Also, IF it IS your head gasket, you'd have water in your oil. Unless by some stroke of luck it blew out an area of the gasket to let it leak out but not into the oil system, unlikely though.

if it's your head, before you do anything, when you take it off make sure your head isn't warped

Could've been worse, I could've suggested a Mr. Fusion setup.

Oh yes, and it wasnt' so much "making fun of noobs" as it was "just got done watching back to the future."

My head gasket blew in cylinders 1 and 4...lucky me....no coolant in the oil, just a coolant recovery tank full of oil!

There was no fluid on my belts, the car nice and quietly, but smoked like crazy!

Re: I need to replace the head gasket

I have no smoke, coolant leaking on the driver's side and the mechanic who asked why was my check engine light turned on told me that it was the head gasket...
