Exclamation Brake Bleeding ( Air In The Line) ????

so i finally got the chance to work on my brakes and change the calipers and pads and lines, i bled the brake lines once to get fluid into the calipers, the brakes work perfectly no worries there, my brake petal is a little softer and goes down further than before, my brakes pulsated before and they dont do it as much, but if there is air in the lines will that cause the pulsation, should i go back and bleed the lines a couple of times, and will that stiffin the brake petal a lil more so i dont have to push down so far.

Thanks

Re: Brake Bleeding ( Air In The Line) ????

When bleeding the brakes start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and work your way around. Make sure you keep the master cylinder topped off with fluid. If it goes dry you will have real issues. As for the pulsating the only time the brakes should pulsate is when the brakes actually are locked and the computer is pulsating the brakes. Not at any other time. If the pulsating continues then you need to take the car to a mechanic and have the ABS checked. Air will cause the brakes to be spongy but not pulsate.

Pulsing as described could be a bad rotor or drum also.

Re: Brake Bleeding ( Air In The Line) ????

hahaha, i had the drums replaced less then a month ago and even before they were replced it was not the drums, the rotors and pads ive replaced twice now, just yesterday and it seemed fine for a bit then started pulsating again, ive brought my car in numerous times and theyve told me tehre nothing wrong witht the brakes, so go figure, the brake pedal is spongy though, so i have to bleed all four brakes front calipers and back drums. cause i just bled the front calipers when i replaced them yesterday and until brake fluid came out and then closed off the bleed valve.

Not sure what year or brake system you have but some require a scan tool to bleed the ABS system.
If normal bleeding does not get it have a shop with a scanner to bleed them for you.

Hey, haha, brake pulsation could still be a bad rotor, get them checked for runout, you have all the answers but the right ones. Can you tell if it is the abs actuating or the brakes shuddering? Until you figure which issue is actually the problem no one here can really point you in the right direction

Re: Brake Bleeding ( Air In The Line) ????

Well it could be the rotors i know its not ABS , im sure it was the calipers and brake flexi lines, cause they were torn and shredded to hell, the brake pedal has stiffed up a bit, and its not pulsating that much so i think the rotors are starting to take shape of the new pads i put on which is good but im still putting new power slotted rotors on cause i can go through regualr rotors in no time, i stop hard alot. but i appreciate the help.

Its right there with the brake booster. And its a silver color. Its right where you fill the brake booster right bye each other.

If you have the system full of air you will need to get someone with a ABS capable scanner to bleed the ABS system right.

Re: Brake Bleeding ( Air In The Line) ????

i dont think its full of air, the brakes are getting better i think the calipers and pads need to get worked it there getting there they imrpove every day and Ceramic pads are the way to go, they stop smoother , they dont feel like there gonna lock up when you have to stop hard and the dont squeal like my other ones.
