Rattle from rear window area

going over bumps i always hear a loose rattle sound.... after closing my door a few times i could tell the rattle was coming from below the rear window (that pannel opposite the box). has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Rattle from rear window area

yeah i have this problem too sometimes, but it seems to be more on the pass side, and sometimes after it rains there are a few water spots on the inside. not sure how to deal with it yet.

Have that too. I've narrowed the rattle noise to the rear seat - passenger side. The seat is loose somewhere and if you grab the seat top and pull it you recreate the sound. The water I've seen lands on the top of my seat to the right of the passenger side rear headrest. Looked for leaks, but it only happens on occasion.

Re: Rattle from rear window area

i still haven't gotten around to it but the water is not really an issue anymore but the rattle is. i have a amp rack that sits on the metal below the rear window and i think it is pushing against the seat making the rattling and squeking. i finally have a garage of my own to work in so i will check it out

Re: Rattle from rear window area

Ok, i put a bead of clear silicone in the crack between the rear window and the body across the top and all the way down the sides, we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain today and tommorow and ill see if that fixed my problem.

Re: Rattle from rear window area

OK, i silicone sealed the top and sides of the rear window (my window is all one peice) on monday. Tuesday is rained and Wednesday is rained, no water on tuesday, but wednesday i had some on the floor behind the seat. So the only thing left to do was seal the third brake light lens. So last night i pulled it off and low and behold there was water inside the body hole where the third brake light goes! So i put a bead of silicone where the lens should seal to the body and also where the screws go in, so now i just need to wait till it rains again here to see if it worked, if not, i dont know where the water is coming from!

Re: Rattle from rear window area

you could also be getting water in via the cab vents in the back oof the cab between the cab and bed. there two retangles that chevy covers up so the vents do not work any way.
